Eddie Finishes Fifth in ACT Race at Oxford Plains Speedway;
Looks Ahead to Toyota All-Star Showdown

Eddie and crew chief Rollie LaChance teamed up for a fifth place finish on Saturday at the famed Oxford Plains Speedway but fell short of their goal when a lapped car potentially cost a win in the Dodge Dealers ACT 150.

“ We had an incredibly fast car all night and were comfortably riding in fifth place on lap 50 when a lapped car spun us out”, said the disappointed driver after the race.

When the green flag waved Eddie restarted in the 34th position and began one of his patented outside charges through the field. The Rowley driver passed eight cars in the next five laps but was put back to 34th when a caution flag waved. No explanation was given for the decision forcing Eddie to again begin the march through the pack. By lap 125 Eddie was running in the top ten and poised to make a run to the front over the final laps.

“ The car was just as good as it was when we won here in August. It was so fast and I could go anywhere but towards the end we ran out of tires,” said Eddie. “It was so good though that I was able to make a late charge and got to third running on the outside but the tires finally gave out.”

“I am happy with the fifth place finish and Rollie gave me a great car as usual but I know we could have had a better finish, even a win, if we did not get taken out by the lapped car. We just had to make up too much ground, which is real tough on this track. I really enjoy racing here and we have had a lot of fun here this season,” said Eddie after the race.
